2021.12.03 13:33 Skree238 Advice please! Dealing with inappropriate behaviour from a driver

Hi everyone,
I'm a 31yo male, based in the UK, and I used Uber Eats to order some groceries last night.
The order was a bit of a shambles in a way that isn't important to the story - the delivery was fine but the shop had messed several things up, missed some items off the order etc.
After receiving the order I raised a ticket with support about the issues, looking for a refund.
This morning (the next day) I had the driver turn up at my front door, really angry with me. He was saying I'd rated him 1 star (I hadn't) and that my complaint had meant Uber had locked him out of doing any more work for them.
I felt really bad - obviously my complaint was with the shop, not with the driver! And there's no way I'd have wanted to affect his earnings at all.
Part of me wants to try and intervene on his behalf with Uber to get his work with them restored.
But at the same time, it's massively inappropriate for him to come back to my address to shout at me about this. I didn't feel 100% safe about this guy knowing where I live and just turning up - I can only imagine how I might feel if I were female or vulnerable etc.
If I report him further for coming to my house, I know he'll definitely lose all his further work with Uber - do I want that? I think he's got every right to be pissed off and that it's outrageous that Uber are taking away his work over this...
But it's clear that using his knowledge of where people live to turn back up at their houses is totally crossing a line and grounds for a serious safety complaint.
Another thought - if I did report him at this point - what would stop him coming back to my house again even more pissed off with me?
I'm leaning towards just leaving it and hoping it calms down - but any/all advice very welcome... Thank you.

2021.12.03 13:33 Jackviator I quit a job after having my lungs pickled.

I used to work at a certain package delivery company, starting near the beginning of the pandemic. I won’t name the company directly in case this somehow gets back to them, but let’s just say that you may, hypothetically, recognize the name as being in the news recently for a bunch of packages found in ravines, and I worked in a division of that company that was rather GROUNDed, if you understand my meaning.
Anyway, I was a package handler, night shift. My job consisted of waking up at a random time between 11pm and 3am (they literally changed the scheduled start time every single day based on the volume of packages we had the next day), driving to work, and unloading trucks full of thousands of packages of all shapes and sizes, up to 150lbs or more at times. It was dirty, strenuous, and dangerous work for a measly $15 an hour with next to zero benefits, but I had bills to pay. …Frankly, I’m surprised I even made that much given the location I worked at wasn’t unionized and the company was very anti-union.
It only took a month after I started working there to develop constant joint pain throughout my entire body that only faded a few weeks after I eventually left (yes, I was using proper lifting techniques), not to mention that unloading these trucks was hazardous by itself. They were haphazardly stuffed as full as possible without any sort of uniformity, often without any care for the weight or fragility of the packages in question, all to maximize profit. This lead to you flinching at every small noise while unloading them in fear that it might be a package slipping off the top of a stack and falling on you, which it often was, usually multiple times a day, no matter how careful and strategic you were when unloading. And of course, they didn’t provide us with any personal protective equipment. I often left work with a new bruise or two, every single day. But that pales in comparison to the worst incident…
One morning, we were winding down for the day when my manager approached me and told me we only had one more truck to do before we could go home for the day. I was the first one into the truck, and as I entered I noticed a VERY strong chemical scent. I didn’t think much of it; packages were constantly breaking open due to the haphazard stacking previously mentioned, to the point that it would be a surprise to find a truck without at least one mangled package.
I had been in there alone for about 5 minutes when I noticed my eyes were getting irritated. Again, I didn’t think anything of it; I thought that I had probably just gotten sweat in my eyes, so I just rubbed my eyelids and kept working. 10 minutes in, a coworker joins me in the truck. 5 minutes later he starts rubbing his eyes too. As I noticed this I felt my nose starting to run. I started to connect the dots, and that little voice in the back of my head was going “Oh, something is very wrong here, isn’t it.”
We got the truck emptied in about an hour, during which time we found a package that was leaking some strange fluid. At that point, my lungs, throat, sinuses and eyes were burning like hell, and I even had occasional coughing fits. The coworkers that had been in there a shorter time weren’t much better off. We all approached the manager that put us in there, described the situation, and he assured us that he would make sure to find out what was in any damaged or leaking packages from that truck.
Fast forward to the next day; I was feeling a bit better, and was thinking “ok, maybe it wasn’t so bad; probably just some aerosol hair spray leaking or something.” Then, during the daily morning meeting we always had before starting work, the manager mentioned, almost as an afterthought:
“Oh, by the way, we had a minor incident yesterday; the last truck of the day had a large package of formaldehyde rupture and leak fumes into the truck.”
…Needless to say, everyone who had been in that truck had their jaws hit the floor. We badgered him for more details, and all he said was that it hadn’t been properly marked as a hazardous material, and thus hadn’t been handled properly (read; stuffed in with as little care as everything else). That’s all it was to them, just a footnote of the previous day. We weren’t offered any sort of compensation; not even so much as an unpaid day off.
Later that day I looked at the company safety data sheets (a manual that many companies in the US are legally required to have that details all hazardous chemicals that the company works with, and how to treat exposure). Formaldehyde wasn’t in there. Which means the company wasn’t even supposed to be working with, much less shipping it, in the first place. So many procedures had to be forgotten about or ignored, and so many people had to be incompetent, careless, and/or straight-up shady for this situation to have occurred.
A week later, I walk into work to see that they had put up a poster with a message from the CEO of the company calling us “heroes” for working through the pandemic. During the morning meeting that day, they told us that the $15/h rate that the package handlers were receiving and hired on at was actually including a hazard pay rate increase due to us being “essential” workers, and as the pandemic had been going on for months now, they had decided to cut out the hazard pay, leaving our pay under $13/h going forward. That was our reward, for our “heroism.”
As I listened to the manager speak, my heart sinking, I glanced over again at the poster, and suddenly had an epiphany:
“I’m worth more than this. We’re ALL worth more than this.”
I put in my two week’s notice later that week (though they didn’t deserve it), even without another job lined up at the time. Fast forward to today, and I’m employed at a much less physically strenuous job making almost $20/h plus guaranteed raises over time, with great benefits and actual PPE for the work we do, entirely thanks to the strong union we’re a part of. I feel much more content, am no longer in constant, chronic pain, and I certainly haven’t had my fucking lungs pickled again.
TL;DR, fuck that company, and if you don’t take anything else away from this post, UNIONIZE. You are worth it. We’re all worth it. And we’re stronger together.

Think I finally has enough karma to post in here and it was apparently not the place for it in the other gronp.
Does Nano price ever respond to news at all? Are there any key memorable events where it's had an effect on price? Since they seem to be gearing up to partner with the weed industry can we only go sideways and down like weed stocks now or we good?
